The Independent
Grocers Alliance (IGA)
has launched a new
Family Meals Made Easy
recipe platform powered
by Grocery Shopii on
IGA.com.
The new platform
provides the retail
grocery industry the
following top three
benefits:
* Retailers can make
meal planning
more accessible
and convenient for
shoppers.
* The recipes are more
impactful for IGA's
independent grocery
retailers who can share
the shoppable content
across their owned
media platforms.
* IGA can better meet
the objectives of its
Red Oval partners, CPG
companies that help
independent grocery
retailers increase
sales with tailored
marketing campaigns
for shoppers.

to get in front of a

when they
are making a decision

Walmart bets big
on e-commerce and
automation in '24
Walmart will continue
to invest in e-commerce
and automation in
2024, a year that could
bring deflation and
falling prices.
Even after the
COVID-19 pandemic, the
number of digitally active
Walmart customers
continues to increase,
said John D. Rainey, chief
financial officer.
" We've been known
for being a brickand-mortar
retailer, "
he said. " We've done
that well for 60 years,
but we are punching
below our weight in
the e-commerce space,
and that's why we're
investing as much as
we are there because
we certainly see that
customers want to shop
us that way. "
Scan-and-go, where
consumers use their
mobile phones to scan
items and skip checkout,
has become popular at
Sam's Club.
" We have roughly
about one in four, almost
one in three, transactions
(that) are done this way, "
Rainey said.
Automation at
Walmart is increasing
in storage and retrieval
of inventory, including
at distribution centers.
Automating pallet
storage brings a " huge
savings, " Rainey said.
